The Savior has invited each one of us to seek after him; to draw nigh unto him; to learn of him; and to become like him. We have been invited on a life journey that will help us to know and recognize the hand of the Lord in our lives.
Developing a testimony of the Savior requires a level of committment. We need to find time to study the life of the Savior. We can learn much about the Savior as we read of His life and teachings in the scriptures. The New Testament chronicles the life of the Savior. Reading about his life will bring us closer to Him. As a second witness and a companion to the Bible, the Book of Mormon Testifies of Christ. A central purpose of the Book of Mormon is to convince all people that Jesus is the Christ. It testifies of Christ by affirming the reality of His life, mission, and power. It teaches true doctrine concerning the Atonement - the foundation for the plan of salvation. Several of those whose writings are preserved in the Book of Mormon saw Christ personally.
We can draw closer to Him through prayer. When we pray about what we have read, asking for a witness that what we have read is true, we will experience great ah-ha moments. We will gain a testimony of the Savior and know him intimately.
Another witness of the Savior is found in the conference talks of the prophets, apostles and general authorities. These men know the Savior intimately. When we study and pray about their words we will add strength to our personal testimonies.

I absolutely love this pic. How can I get a copy?
ReplyDeleteI got it from one of two places: LDS.org and searched for pictures of Christ. I believe it is called "Fisher of Men". I have found other pictures by doing a search on the internet for pictures of Christ.
